Will same-day shipment to my door be safe, secure, and confidential?
Absolutely. To ensure your safety and privacy, a Pineapple Express Delivery driver in an unmarked vehicle will deliver the order to your doorstep in discreet packaging that is regulated by Health Canada. The driver will be wearing an official uniform and lanyard.
Will medical cannabis affect my sleep?
Cannabis is known to have an impact on wake/sleep cycles. People often refer to cannabis strains as being either an indica, sativa, or hybrid of the two.
Generally, indica strains are associated with sleepiness, and sativa strains with energy, but no two strains are alike. Because cannabis affects people differently, however, individual experiences vary.
If sleep is a concern, talk to your healthcare practitioner, or a member of our Client Care team.
Will medical cannabis affect my appetite?
Depending on the product consumed and the individual, increased appetite is an effect many people experience. Medical cannabis, however, can also be effective at curbing appetites in some.
Will I become addicted?
All substances that affect the mind carry their own set of risks and harms, including the possibility of a dependency or addiction.
The risk of cannabis addiction, however, is lower than the risk of addiction to alcohol, tobacco or opioids. And, unlike substances such as alcohol or opioids where overdoses may be fatal, a cannabis overdose is not fatal.
GRx recommends you speak to your healthcare practitioner to weigh the risks and benefits of medical cannabis.
Why does GRx use MCT oil as a carrier?
MCT oil is:
- Highly stable, with a two to three-year shelf life (unlike most natural oils, MCT oil will not go rancid)
- Flavourless and odourless
- Highly permeable in the human body, making it effective in aiding in the absorption of cannabinoids
Why do the GRx labels look different?
You may notice that we’ve changed our labels to reflect GRx and our subsequent focus on advancing the science of cannabinoid therapy. In addition to our new logo that emphasizes our focus on prescription medication, here are some additional features to share:
We are now measuring potency in milligrams per gram as mandated by health Canada. However, we will still provide you with the previous unit of measurement (mg/ml) for your comfort and reassurance.
We are now using a peel back label that includes information such as:
-Cannabis Product Type
-Possession Limit Statement (to help law enforcement determine public possession limits have not been exceeded by the patient)
-Volume and Weight of each bottle
-Instructions for Intended Use
Capturing this information on a subsequent Health Canada-compliant peel-back label allows us to accommodate all of the information you need to stay informed in a clear and concise manner.
Why are you no longer providing client cards with first orders?
Patients are no longer required to carry ID cards to prove their authorization to possess medical cannabis.
Those authorized to access cannabis for medical purposes must be prepared to show they are legally allowed to possess more than 30 grams (or equivalent) in public, if requested by law enforcement.
This can be done by showing:
- Your registration document issued by a federally licensed seller
- Your registration certificate issued by Health Canada for personal or designated production
- Your registration certificate issued by Health Canada for possession only
- This new registration for possession only is available to meet the needs of those choosing to access their supply of cannabis for medical purposes exclusively from a provincial or territorial authorized retail outlet or authorized online sales platform
Who can complete my medical document?
Your medical document can be completed by a licensed physician or nurse practitioner in your province. It is a healthcare practitioner’s discretion to prescribe medical cannabis to a patient.
If your healthcare practitioner is not familiar with prescribing medical cannabis, our Client Care department can connect you with a cannabinoid clinic for a consultation.
Which cannabis oil is right for me?
We recommend talking to your healthcare practitioner about which oil is right for you. If you need further guidance, one of our Client Care Specialists will be happy to help.

Please note that your named responsible adult will be required to present valid photo identification and signature verification upon receiving your order.

We will initiate a request with the carrier to determine the location of your package and keep you up to date every step of the way.

What are the effects of consuming cannabis oils when compared to dried flower?
When smoking or vapourizing cannabis, the onset of effects is typically quick, from seconds to minutes. These effects can typically last from two to four hours.
Consuming ingestible oils, on the other hand, can take between 30 minutes and three or four hours for effects to set in. These effects may also last for up to eight hours, or more, depending on dosage.
When consuming an ingestible cannabis oil, it’s always important to start with a low dose and increase the dosage if necessary. For our lowest-potency THC oils, it’s recommended patients start with a dose of less than 0.2 ml, and increase the dosage incrementally until the desired result is achieved.
What are the benefits of consuming cannabis oils?
Ingestible cannabis oils offer a consistent and accurate means of dosing medical cannabis. Dosing can be easily adjusted based on need, and with support from your healthcare practitioner.
An alternative to smoking or vapourizing, cannabis oils can easily be added to favourite foods or beverages, or dropped directly under the tongue.
What are my possession and personal storage limits under the Cannabis Act?
With the legalization of recreational cannabis, adults 18 years of age or older (depending on province or territory) are able to possess up to 30 grams of legally sourced, recreational dried cannabis (or the equivalent in non-dried form, including oils, or concentrated products). For personal use, they are also able to grow up to four plants from licensed seeds or seedlings per residence.
Authorized medical cannabis patients can possess up to an additional 150 grams of legally sourced dried cannabis (or its equivalent) for their own medical purposes, for a total of 180 grams.
Individuals authorized by a healthcare practitioner can also register with the Minister of Health to cultivate medical cannabis for personal use, or have someone do so on their behalf. The number of plants allowed to be cultivated, and amount of dried cannabis stored, is based on an individual’s registration certificate issued by the Minister.
Is medical cannabis safe?
Health Canada’s quality control standards coupled with GRx’s thorough, third-party laboratory testing ensures our products are free from potentially harmful contaminants.
Much like any medication, however, medical cannabis has both benefits and risks. Before using medical cannabis, patients should consult their healthcare practitioner. This is especially the case if they have a history of alcohol or drug abuse, mental illness, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If I receive compassionate pricing, do I have to re-register for it when I renew?

How does supercritical extraction work?
Supercritical CO2 is a physical state where CO2 is both a gas and a liquid. This supercritical state is achieved by heating and pressurizing the CO2 to specific parameters. When cannabis is exposed to supercritical CO2, we are able to extract its medicinal compounds, including THC and CBD.
Supercritical extraction is the best way to get a clean end-product free of additives, impurities and residual solvents.
How do you calculate the 30x daily order limit?
The Cannabis Act requires us to set, and re-set, a 30-day order period based on the estimated delivery date of your first order.
Once your 30-day order period is established, you can purchase any portion of your prescription that is estimated to arrive during that 30-day window, after which your entire 30X daily limit will be available again on your reset date.
Please be advised that unused portions of your prescription cannot be carried over from one 30-day order period to the next.
How do I renew my registration?
When your prescription expires, you will need to complete a new registration application and have your healthcare practitioner submit a new medical document to GRx. We will notify you well in advance of your prescription expiration date
How do I register as a patient with GRx?
To become a GRx patient, we require a completed registration form and medical document issued by a healthcare practitioner. Once the medical document is received, our Client Care team will cross-reference the documentation and complete a verification process.

How do I determine my ideal dose?
Doses vary based on an individual’s health goals, level of experience with medical cannabis, and method of consumption.
For these reasons, and to avoid over-consumption, it’s advisable to start low and go slow. Start with a small amount, and wait for the active ingredients to come into full effect before slowly increasing the dose over time, if needed.
How do I consume cannabis oil?
Our cannabis oils are ready to use right out of the bottle and can be applied under the tongue (sublingually) in small doses as prescribed by your healthcare practitioner.
Cannabis oil can also be added to food items, such as salads, or beverages, such as smoothies. Foods with a higher fat content may help the body absorb the active ingredients.
It is good practice to start with a low dosage of cannabis oil and incrementally increase the amount after becoming comfortable with the effects it produces. Always remember to start low and go slow.
How are GRx oils produced?
GRx oils are produced through state-of-the-art supercritical CO2 extraction. The extraction process produces a concentrated resin that is diluted with a carrier oil for oral administration.
Supercritical CO2 produces high-quality cannabis oils because the process delivers high concentrations of cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD.
Does my insurance cover medical cannabis?
We suggest contacting your insurance company about possible coverage. Alternatively, if your coverage includes a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA), medical cannabis can be claimed as a legitimate expense under Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
Does GRx use pesticides?
Health Canada provides a very strict list of pesticides that can be safely used in cannabis production, and we do not use any product that is not on that list.

These agents include bacterial and fungal cultures, as well as larger organisms such as mites and predator wasps.
